Brazilian gas firm committed to stimulating the use of CNG
The Gas Company of Rio Grande do Sul (Sulgás) launched a campaign to continue with the CNG program \"Green Light for Economy\", introduced in 2009. This initiative obtained great success in the state with more than 2,000 conversions performed from July 2009 to April of this year when the promotion of R$ 400 voucher plus 10 per cent discount on the CNG conversion was ended.
The new campaign, entitled “Customer Green Light Corporative”, is aimed at corporations and owners of vehicles that are licensed to use them as taxis. During this promotion, drivers who convert their units can obtain savings of up to R$ 1,000.
Under a loan scheme, CNG steel cylinders with a capacity of 7.50, 10 and 17.50 cubic meters will be granted to each taxi that requires the conversion, in Rio Grande do Sul workshops accredited by Inmetro.
Customers with proposals approved by Sulgás will sign a loan agreement and will install the cylinder at the workshops specified in the submission. This contract will be valid for 60 months and can be extended.
The adhesion period will end on December 31st or until the 2,000 cylinders in stock can be distributed. The complete rules for participation in this new campaign are available at
Sulgás site.
