Peruana de Gas Natural (PGN) announced that the second NGV station of the Metropolitan corridor will be ready by the end of September. The northern head supplying point, located in the district of Comas, will supply natural gas to public buses.
As in the southern, the northern CNG station has the latest technology and their operations are guaranteed by its computerized control system.
In its 8 hectares, there will be 13 fast filling pumps, five double compressors and four gas storage units. Each pump is able to fuel a vehicle in about five minutes.
Company's general manager, Edgardo Escobar, said this CNG complex will be the largest in South America with a capacity to serve more than 400 buses in a daily bases. This is equivalent to the double of capacity than the southern dispensing point that was opened in June in the district of Chorrillos.
Escobar stated that “this project will prove that natural gas is the fuel of the future” and when Metropolitan corridor is fully operative “will be very helpful to Lima, to achieve a better order in the public transit and a friendly environment."
