3rd International Conference on CNG in Tehran

TEHRAN 18 September (Shana): Head of the Fuel and Transportation Management Headquarters, Mohammad Royanian, says the number of CNG stations have increased 30 times over the three last years. Addressing the 3rd International Conference on CNG in Tehran, Royanian also said the number of CNG stations would be increased by 400 up to the end of the current Iranian calendar year, 1389 (20 March 2011). He noted that based on our policies, the public vehicles including taxies should be the first to benefit from the fuel. The official said that increasing CNG consumption is the reason behind the country’s reducing fuel consumption by 20 to 25 percent noting that gasoline consumption has fallen 38 to 40 million liters a day during the past three years standing at 60 to 62 million liters now. The Third International Conference and Exhibition on CNG convened today morning in Olympic Hotel’s conference hall in Tehran with the participation of 120 domestic and foreign companies. Asia Pacific Natural Gas Vehicles Association (ANGVA), International Association for Natural Gas Vehicles (IANGV), Iran’s CNG Industries Associations Institute, private and state sectors companies and organizations are among the participants in the 3 day event that kicked off 18 September in Tehran. Drawing a roadmap for the CNG industry, the latest technical and technological achievements of the CNG industry, development of the infrastructures for CNG consumption in the transportation sector, technical and safety standards in CNG industry and global and Iran’s CNG market are among the main topics of the conference.
