Peru will deliver the vehicle number 3000 of Mi Taxi during the first half of January
The director of the successful program Mi Taxi, Álvaro Chirinos, announced that in the middle of the first month of 2009, the taxi number 3000 will be delivered, with the support of the President Alan García, of Cofide, financial institutions and of the same taxi drivers.
Chirinos commented that the great reception that the program has between the users, and mentioned the notable increase of the NGV stations in Lima and Callao, which currently added up to 60. In this regard, added that it is expected that to the end of 2009, this number increase to more than 150 points of sale, as there are at least 120 stations that are in the final stage to come into operation.
The businessman announced that the program will reach the south of Peru, the cities of Chincha, Cañete, Ica and Nazca, places where increased the infrastructure to support this system, in view of the ecological and economic benefits that has the use of natural gas as fuel.
Chirinos remembered that the requirements to acquire a NGV taxi of the Program is to ensure that is a taxi driver, presenting his Setame card (issued by the Municipality of Lima) or SETAC (offered by the Municipality of Callao) and pay in cash the initial amount of US$ 2.990, only payment in cash, because the balance will be paid through the consumption of fuel. He said that the same can be paid in the period of five years, but this time is reduced considerably since the diary cover of the taxis.
