Bolivia: 95 percent of the vehicles in Cochabamba are powered by CNG
Approximately 60,000 CNG-driven units operate in this Bolivian department, which became the largest consumer of the fluid, in both vehicular and industrial application. Furthermore, the area ranks first in the country\'s vehicle fleet conversion to methane.
Cochabamba Gas Company, local natural gas distributor, reported that this is the jurisdiction with higher consumption of CNG in the country, since it receives daily 14 million cubic feet out of a total of 28 million.
The vehicles that run on natural gas in Cochabamba represents 95 percent of the public and private fleet, light and medium-sized ones, including buses, taxis and personal cars. The remaining percentage of vehicles uses gasoline or diesel.
Compared to the rest of the country, the department has the largest number of units converted to CNG, high above places such as Santa Cruz, El Alto and La Paz.
