IKCO to Produce 125,000 Natural Gas Engines in 2010
Along with Iran’s government program for the rationalization of subsidies for energy, Iranian automaker Khodro Industrial Group (IKCO) has put fresh efforts into its agenda and plans to produce 125 thousand sets of natural gas engines for the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – March 20). Ali Sheikhzadeh, IKCO Powertrain Deputy CEO said, “This fuel efficient CNG-based engine is going to be mounted on Samand and Peugeot Pars (Peugeot 207i) sedans – the latter will be sold under licence from 2011. IKCO and Peugeot are already negotiating to outfit the Peugeot 405 with this engine, since IKCO experts have provided the feasibility of this process through technical investigations.”
