Peru: 70 new CNG buses for the Metropolitan corridor

These were introduced in astretch of the express way of the Segregated Corridor of High Capacity (Cosac, as its Spanish acronym), a project that will have 312 articulated buses on the main route and more than 200 feeder buses on the so-called feeder roads in southern and northern Lima. The recently added fleet will pass through a series of technical inspections during an examination period of approximately 7 days. The 18 m and 160 seats buses will be tested without passengers, to calibrate every electronic device in each vehicle perfectly. The “empty test” will also allow drivers to check their ability since with this period of practice they will get used to the vehicle itself and to each terminal’s junction along the corridor. The new public-transportation system, that will connect the areas of Chorrillos and Comas, is about to be inaugurated. According to officials of the Municipality of Lima, the southern section (Chorrillos-Lima) will begin operational in late April, while the entire corridor will be ready for May. It is worth recalling that with the Metropolitan corridor, users will have a high frequency service with time of arrival and departure. Besides, they will have planned routes and more efficient and greener front-line NGVs, certified by the emissions control system EPA 2010. GET WORLDWIDE: CNG turnkey station - CNG vertical compressor
