NGV Global News industry sources in Iran confirm the growth will continue despite a pending cessation of NGV subsidies by the government, and predict close to 3 million NGVs will be on Iranian roads by end of 2012. As at 30 June 2010, there were 1.95 million NGVs and 1380 filling stations. Industry members will gather in Tehran for the Iran NGV 2010 Conference in September during which the current and future position of the industry will be analysed.

Iran’s Push for Fuel Self-Sufficiency Drives NGV Growth
Iran’s natural gas vehicle industry is expected to continue growing amidst increasing energy related sanctions imposed on the country. The sanctions are driving Iran toward being fully self-sufficient in vehicle fuels by 2015, according to a Dow Jones report.
